The SCHOOL OF ENVIRONMENT AND ARCHITECTURE (SEA) was founded in 2014 by a group of architects, educationists and experts from various fields related to the built environment. Located at Borivali in North Mumbai, SEA is a joint initiative of the Society for Environment and Architecture (SoEA) and Suvidya Prasarak Sangh (SPS).

SEA offers a bachelor’s programme in architecture affiliated to the University of Mumbai and approved by the Council of Architecture. Its programme is experimental in its orientation and seeks to create an updated and relevant model for architectural education. The current faculty-led research explorations at SEA include: emerging urban conditions and housing contexts in India; difference and architecture; South Asian architecture and urbanism; repair and retrofit of built environments; post-intensive landscapes; ward level environmental information systems; and, development and use of organic composites in architecture.
